[8 Aug 2013] Minister Nemoto welcomed 911 Families' Association

On 8th August, Reconstruction Minister Nemoto welcomed members of The September 11th Families’ Association to the Reconstruction Agency.

The Association has paid their visit to the 3.11 disaster-affected areas in order to share their own experiences in the aftermath of 9.11 incident and how they have overcome their difficulties and pains. This is their second visit to Japan and to the Reconstruction Agency since October 2012.

The September 11th Families’ Association members explained to the Minister Nemoto of their visit program in the disaster-affected areas such as meeting with firefighters of Koriyama, Fukushima and dialogues with the disaster victims in ‘Karakoro Station (mental healthcare facility)’. They have stressed the importance of mental healthcare for the 3.11 victims.

Minister Nemoto expressed his respect and gratitude for their activities which help encourage those affected people. Finally, head of the mission, Mr. Anthony Palmeri handed Minister Nemoto a picture book which describes the story of origami crane monument given by the 911 Association to the City of Koriyama last year.
